THE JY RUSSELL BEQUEST TRUST

The Russell Bequest Trust was created in 1992 when the Court of Session approved the appointment of three Trustees to administer the Trust funds of the late Mr James Young Russell, who died on 11 September 1982.  The Trust is administered by three trustees, one nominated by North Berwick Community Council and two of the North Berwick Councillors.

The objectives of the Trust are to provide, extend or maintain or otherwise to benefit such sporting facility or facilities, in the town of North Berwick as the Trustees in their absolute and unfettered discretion think fit, to promote or otherwise to benefit sport in and around the town of North Berwick, to participate in or contribute to any new capital development in connection with sport in or around the town of North Berwick which may be provided or funded in whole or in part by central or local government or any other body.

The Trustees usually meet twice annually in March and October and welcome applications that meet these objectives.  The trust provides funding to support groups of all sizes and activities for all ages.
